Terroir, identity, quality – the essence of Sicily. Firriato is one of the island’s eminent quality wine-makers and has been able to find its own original productive path in the short space of three decades. Established in 1984 in the countryside of Trapani by Salvatore Di Gaetano and his wife Vinzia, today the company is a mosaic of vineyards, divided into 6 estates, embracing Sicily’s complex oenological greatness that spaces from the high-altitude viticulture of Mount Etna to the vineyards overlooking the sea of Favignana, in the Egadi archipelago, home to the company’s numbered and niche productions. In this composite scenario made up of 420 hectares of organically farmed vineyards, Firriato has created a modern oenological approach to high-precision viticulture capable of enhancing the varietal character of each vine and the unique pedoclimate of each terroir. Today Firriato is also the first carbon-neutral winery on the island and offsets the greenhouse gas emissions of its entire production, committed as always to seek excellence while respecting the environment and safeguarding nature.
