Ever since the year 2011, Claudio Conte’s Enoteca Buoni Vini is an address which is an indispensable reference point for passionate wine lovers who are either residents of the city or those simply passing through Palermo. It is a reassuring spot, comfortable and furnished with taste where the choice can be made among the over 3,000 bottles on the shelves.
The offerings includes the finest Sicilian cellars along with other choice bottles from Italy and abroad. It should be sufficient to mention the Chablis from William Fevre or from Moreau, the Pernand-Vergelesses of De Montille, the Bordeaux of Château Pey-Latour, Château Bonnet or Château-Figeac, the Moselle of Nik Weis or Dr. Fischer, the Alsatian Gewürtztraminer from Weinbach.
After sundown, from 6 P.M. on, the enoteca is transformed into a wine bar and bistrot with a menu which is ideal for matching food and wine. To start: a spread of salami and cheese, Pata Negro ham from Spain, marinated shrimps, tuna tartar with avocado, canapés of foie gras, “busiate” (a short, twisted pasta) with wild mushrooms, pasta stuffed with buffalo mozzarella in a cherry tomato sauce with eggplant chips, a salmon filet seasoned with rosemary, sliced tuna with black sesame seeds, a beef cheeseburger. Special events are regularly held, among the next ones on the calnedar are a tasting of the Rallo wines from Marsala followed by another with Romano dal Forno, among the most celebrated Italian producers of Amarone of all.
