The origins of Ibla are very ancient and date back to the pre-Hellenic period. After the earthquake of 1693, the palaces houses and churches build anew were characterized by the strong influence of the Baroque style. In them the building workers expressed the search for caricature in order to astound strike and amaze. Today, Ragusa Ibla is one of the most fascinating pearls of Sicily and is worth visiting. Walking amongst the extremely narrow and charming alleys, which can only be travelled over on foot, in search of artistic gems is very pleasant and fascinating.
