I receive the notice – an electrifying one – from Bocum Winebar & Mixology (Palermo) and arrives as a true bolt from the blue between delicious tapas, fabulous cocktails from Gianluca Di Giorgio, and an extraordinary spaghetti with sea urchins from Diego Battaglia.
Franco Virga and Stefania Milano, full of positive force, well satisfied by the (notably) successful performance of their Palermo spots, have thought up a seaside outlet for their energies, a seasonal residence for their Gagini Social Restaurant during the dog days of summer. And what better spot than a wild island lost in the middle of the sea.
From April 14th on, the Island of Pantelleria will have its Gagini Social Resort. The new headquarters of the restaurant will feature in the kitchen chef Diego Battaglia. But his work will not limit itself solely to dinner: service will begin early in the day with the breakfast, will continue with a poolside light lunch, and then cocktail bar and aperitif on the roof until late in the night. Bartenders from all over Europe will alternate – Di Giorgio of Bocum himself will participate in special evenings. The notice of notice concerns the spot: the Wine Resort Sikelia of Giulia Gelmetti Pazienza, one of Sicily’s and he Mediterranean’s most exclusive residences, and also one with one of the most important cellars on the island. The “Zibibbo” Muscats of Coste Ghirlanda are, in fact, among the finest expression of Pantelleria as a territory.
